Besides being International Women’s Day, 8 March, was also the 69th birthday of Micky Dolenz, who between 1966 and 1968 starred in the TV series “The Monkees.”

Besides selling some great tunes, the show won two Emmys in 1967: Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Comedy (James Frawley).

Of the foursome, only Davy Jones has died. Peter Tork is 73. Michael Nesmith is 72. Jones passed away in 2012 at age 66.

If you’re an old fan or a new fan, you do have a chance to see Dolenz in the flesh later this month. Micky and Peter will be performing a one-night (27 March 2015) only in Southern California as a warm-up for their Canadian shows.

You can get tickets for this show in Indio, California through the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino Special Events Center.
