SYTYCD & DWTS fans it’s your chance to learn to tango

“So You Think You Can Dance” fans everywhere know that the go-to choreographers for Argentine tango are Miriam Larici and Leonardo Barrionuevo. These two dancers extraordinaire live in Los Angeles aren are presenting a special “I ♥ TANGO  Weekend” September 20th- 22nd 2013.

This isn’t about ballroom tango, so don’t come if you’re looking for American tango or International tango which belong in ballroom. This is the sultry original tango from Argentina and Uruguay. Expect the weekend to be intense. Expect to become obsessed because Argentine tango isn’t just a dance; it’s a way of life.

Besides Larici and Barrionuevo, two other couples will be teaching and dancing. Leonardo’s brother and sister-in-law, the San Diego-based, Carlos Barrionuevo and Mayte Valdes, and the Los Angeles-based Sandor and Parissa Shahrdar.

Carlos and Valdes star in the 2013 independent movie “Niña del Tango.”

Sandor and Parissa will be familiar to DWTS fans. Parissa was Antonio Banderas’ ballroom and tango coach for “Take the Lead.”

Sandor and Parissa and Larici and Barrionuevo helped choreograph Argentine tango routines for various couples on DWTS.
