‘Firefly’ and ‘Con Man’ fans, flock to Long Beach Comic-con Today

There are many reasons to go to Long Beach Comic-Con: the cost, the location, the easy parking, the free display of cool cars and the proximity to the beach. This time, Long Beach Comic Con 2016 features a reunion of Joss Whedon’s “Firefly” and “Serenity” cast.

Adam Baldwin, Jewel Staite, Sean Maher and  Summer Glau will be there Saturday and Sunday signing autographs at $50 a pop. Nathan Fillion will be making an appearance Saturday only on the “Con Man” and “Firefly” panels.

The “Con Man” panel from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30p.m. at Knerds of the Round Table features Nathan Fillion and PJ Haarsma introducing the new (and they say awesome) Con Man game. “Con Man” is a web series that had an incredibly successful crowdfunding campaign and has returned for Season 2.

Stay in your seats because “Shiny! The Official Firefly Panel” is in the same room from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and immediately followed by a special Browncoats event. Aaron Couch from The Hollywood Reporter hosts the panel with Fillion, Adam Baldwin, Jewel Staite, Sean Maher and  Summer Glau. After the panel CSTS-LA will feature Francis Hamada’s epic fan film “Browncoats: Independence War,” a prequel to “Firefly” and “Serenity.” In addition to this shiny new film, the pilot episode of Firefly “Serenity” will be screened. Browncoats at CSTS-LA will also enjoy a lively auction, have a chance to win fantastic prizes, merchandise to purchase and there will be a Firefly cosplay contest.
