Ms. Geek Speaks: Nightmare Before Christmas Matchy-Matchy Jackets

Doing last-minute projects is never a good idea if you want order in your life, but I found these black jackets for sale at the Gap and because it came in men’s sizes with an XXS, I thought there were possibilities. I thought it would be a great project for our anniversary and Valentine’s Day.

My husband has some black slacks that had a broken zipper and also great lined pockets. I used the pants legs to make the lining of four pockets. I just sewed the bottom closed. Then, to make the jackets more interesting, I made a pattern piece and cut out four pieces of thin t-shirt knit fabric I had after the pandemic. I had stitched them all in.

Then I bought two white lace bats and sewed them to a white handkerchief that had a moth/butterfly on one corner. I also have a leash to it isn’t easy to lose.

Also on a leash, were these Zeros that were mean to be attached to headbands, but I found a retractable lanyard to work as its leash.

I think this is just the thing for Halloween or Christmas or D23 Expo.
