Zendaya is the lead character in the TV series “Shake It Up” as Rocky Blue. She began her professional career as a fashion model for Macy’s, Mervyn’s and Old Navy and appeared as a back-up dancer in a commercial for Sears. She was a featured performed in a music video by Kidz Bop in 2009. She also did a Katy Perry song cover on Kidz Bop, “Hot N Cold.”

Kidz Bop is a brand of compilation albums that feature child session musicians. The albums are kid-friendly versions of the Top 40. The concept is children singing songs for children. Kidz Bop released the first album in 2001.

Zendaya was born in Oakland, California and attended the Oakland School for Arts. She also danced with a group called Future Shock Oakland for three years.

Zendaya will be competing with Val Chmerkovskiy. Val first began competing during season 13 when he was paired with Elisabetta Canalis. They finished 11th. The next season, he was paired with Sherri Shepherd and finished tenth. During the All-Stars, Val had his best finish, making the semi-finals and finishing third with Kelly Monaco.

Val Chmerkovskiy should do well with Zendaya if they get on well enough.
