I link to this AP story from the Chicago Suntimes here because Pasadena is a small town and we have a lot of lovely family stores and family businesses.
I love Vroman’s–Pasadena’s independent bookstore. And then there’s the used bookstore, Cliff’s. They have survived the influx of the big box stores so far, but let’s not take them for granted.
I used to live by Crown Hardware. They were helpful and not just in terms of sales. When my dogs were being attacked by a pitbull, they came out to help me (along with the guys from the garage across the street, a postal carrier and the upholstery guy).
We need to support small businesses. They are what make Pasadena special. Maybe we need a cash mob!
