BrickCentric Brings Master Builders, Games and Inspiration to Los Angeles

Friday afternoon, we attended the inaugural BrickCentric Los Angeles 2026 in Burbank. The activities we attended were all indoors and a welcome escape from the heat into worlds of imagination at this fan-based celebration of all things LEGO at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport hotel.

The parking with validation is $15. You can get all-access passes, one-day passes. The fun actually started before the event with a special Thursday Universal Studios trip. Friday night there was a preview party, benefiting the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. A lot of the participants already know each other, but not everyone is doing the same LEGO-centric builds. There’s quilting and florals, LEGO posters and portraits, some LEGO dioramas and then some massive worlds such as the Avengers Tower and Williams Castle.

There are games that mostly test friendships, marriages and can you work well with others (friends or randomly assigned strangers.

Games Arena and Seminars Include:

  • Brick Pong: A brick-based twist on beer pong  with no beer. Players advance through a tournament where cups are filled with increasingly valuable bounty, culminating in a one-on-one match for the coveted Brick Pong trophy.

  • It Takes 2: Teams of two work together to build under time pressure.

  • Mé·nage à Brick: Teams of three must cooperate to complete their build.

  • You Spin Me ’Round: A relay-style build with teams of four.

  • Box Build: Individuals must build using only the box (the building instructions have been removed).

  • Left Hand / Right Hand: Teams of two discover which hand is dominant as they complete a building challenge.

  • Call My Agent: A game of communication and guidance for teams of two, where one team member gives instructions and the other executes the build.

  • Improv Build: Participants are given a basic set and must transform it into something unique. Builds are judged blindly, with top entries advancing to the final round.

  • Stand & Model: A standing build challenge where participants must strike a pose while constructing their creation.

  • What’s Your Bag?: Nothing between you and the brick except 3mm of plastic.

  • Missing Element: A trivia-style competition testing participants’ LEGO® knowledge, with increasingly difficult questions weeding down the competitors.

  • Team Speed Build: Two teams of six compete live using themes such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, Botanicals, Friends, Modular, Ninjago, Super Mario, Creator, Stranger Things, and Wicked.

We attended the Star Wars build and the winning team finished in less than an hour. Everyone got to keep parts of the build.

The organization participate in several events nationally and internationally. You can check their events schedule here.

Williams Castle. For more photos and videos of this massive build, visit my Instagram.

Mostly, this is a cozy, intimate setting where you’re free to ask questions and be inspired. Take your older kids who won’t touch the builds. They may be inspired to learn about electronics, engineering and problem solving or just to play. If you’re a LEGO fan, take friends, compete or just be inspired by talking to other builders. There are two areas set aside where you can build your own temporary creations, and there are vendors with mini figs, boxed and unboxed sets and even Lego jewelry.
