‘In Your Dreams’ Makes Filmmaker Debut a Dream Come True ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Can you fix your family “In Your Dreams”? That’s the alluring possibility facing our protagonist, Stevie, who feels life used to be perfect before the arrival of her younger brother Elliot. “In Your Dreams” is the feature film directorial debut for Alex Woo who co-wrote the screenplay with Erik Benson (from a story created by Woo, Benson and Stanley Moore).Released on Netflix on 14 November 2025, the film has climbed as high as number three  on the most watched films on Netflix.

Produced by Netflix Animation and Kuku Studios, an independent animation studio that Woo founded and serves as CEO, the film is about a sister, Stevie (Jolie Hoang-Rappaport), who feels a tremendous sense of responsibility for her family’s well-being. She finds her brother annoying. She might have something to do with the disappearance of Elliot’s favorite pal, his stuffed animal Baloney Tony (voiced by Craig Robinson).

Stevie learns her mother (Cristin Milioti) is going to a work interview in another city. Her father (Simu Liu)  isn’t pleased. The specter of a family splitting up haunts her. In this state of mind, she’s left in charge of her brother, Elliot (Elias Janssen), who  steals a “priceless” book. They begin reading about the Sandman and that evening they share dreams as the book takes them on an adventure to places where cereal talks and walks and lost toys can be found.

I’m not a fan of baloney in people or on my dinner plate, but while Baloney Tony and his kid like rancid baloney meat and smelliness doesn’t deter them, my affection for them grew in this animated tale about family and dreams.

In the interest of full disclosure, I do have a younger brother and he did like baloney and I didn’t get along with him growing up. I don’t get along with him now and that’s a shame for sure. They will avoid Nightmare (Gia Carides) and finally meet the Sandman (Omid Djalili). The Sandman’s digs are big and beautiful with friendly sandlings and the Sandman can grant wishes. This story has finds them forced to work together and to take on frightening adventures where they will, no surprise, learn to respect each other and cooperate.

While you can probably predict the ending and at least one of the songs they’ll use on the soundtrack of this fun family-friendly journey.

“In Your Dreams” had a limited theatrical release on 7 November 2025 and began streaming on 14 November 2025. For the week of 17 – 23 November 2025, “In Your Dreams” was Netflix’s number 2 top global movie behind the romance, “Champagne Problems,” and in front of Guillermo del Toro’s “Frankenstein.”
