Do you love the warmth of wood in the golden glimmer of sunlight muted by stained glass windows? That’s the Gamble House and for two weeks, it’s home to events that places art and performance within this specialized environment as part of the AxS Festival. Saturday and Sunday are you last chance to see these site specific performances and art pieces.
AxS is a Pasadena Arts Council program. That’s Art meets Science and the AxS Festival is billed as “a proving ground where ideas, scientific theories and leanding-edge technologies converge with artistic innovation across a multidisciplinary platform or architecture, new media, visual art, music, theater, dance, educational programs and provocative conversation.” What better place than Pasadena where we have plenty of art museums and a center that focuses on art, the Art Center, and two institutions known for scientific achievements–Caltech and JPL/NASA.
The Machine Project is a non-profit educational organization based in Los Angeles made up of artists, scientists, poets, technicians and performers who want to produce non-commercial projects that investigate all those fields with new ideas for creative engagement. They host events and this is an event worth taking, but you’ll have to take tickets.
