Lineage Dance will hold a uniquely creative benefit on September 10, 2011 to raise funds for its programs which expand arts audiences and raise funds and awareness for many vital charities. Acclaimed artists including Joyce Kohl, Luc Leestemaker, Richard Parker and Meriel Stern have created magical artworks with the theme of “movement” for sale and live auction.
The event will take place from 5-9 p.m., at the historic Altadena home and amphitheater of Melinda and Matthew Nix, the writer of the television series, Burn Notice. A creative convergence of multi-media art forms, festivities will include a performance by Lineage Dance, live music, tango lessons and gourmet foods and wine. The event’s guests will have also an opportunity to contribute to an interactive work of art. Local restaurants including The Raymond and Café Santorini will provide catering. Cost is: $150.
Pasadena community activist Don Thomas, M.D. will emcee the evening’s program. Serving on the Honorary Committee are Pasadena mayor Bill Bogaard, actress/comedienne Jane Kaczmarek, artist Luke Leestemaker, and Executive Director of the Armory Center for the Arts Scott Ward.
